Dave Abramson has coached volleyball for 25 years starting with two other clubs before starting the Invasion Program in 1990. The purpose of the club was to develop a strong competitive program in eastern Jackson county and help high schools on this side of the state line. Dave was an All-American and played on a National Championship collegiate team at Graceland University. Additionally, when he continued to play, he played on the U.S. Men's over 50 team as an outside hitter and libero, playing in several international matches. He has had several of his teams qualify for Nationals with finishes as high as 3rd, 5th, and 9th. He loves coaching, has a passion for the sport and simply wants the players to have fun and improve so much that their High School coaches simply must play them!
This is Travis’s fifth year at Invasion and 1st year as associate director of Invasion VBC. Travis has coached at least 1 team to nationals every year with Invasion VBC. Highlights of his Invasion coaching stint have been: Taking the 17-Blue team to the USA division of Nationals in the 2015. Winning the Mideast Qualifier and taking 2nd at the Show Me Qualifier with the 15-Black team in 2016 season and taking 3rd at the MLK Qualifier and 2nd at the HOA Regional Championships with 18-Black in 2017.
Outside of Invasion, Travis spent 4 years as the student assistant of William Jewell College from 2009-2012 and the graduate assistant coach of Central Methodist University from 2013-2015.
Travis has an undergrad in Accounting and Applied Critical Thought and Inquiry from William Jewell College and a masters in Education and Athletic Administration from Central Methodist University. He has worked as an underwriter for MetLife insurance since 2015 along with his role with Invasion Volleyball Club.
Mallori Perry is the head coach of the Jaguar volleyball program at Blue Springs South High School. In 2018, the Jaguars went 29-7, and finished the season as Conference Champs, District Champs, Sectional Champs, and one win away from the state final four.
Prior to joining Invasion's leadership staff, Perry was an assistant coach for Invasion in 2015 and 2016, and head coach in 2017 and 2018. She helped Invasion to two National Qualifier (Windy City) first place finishes in 2016 and 2018 and made three USAV Girls Junior National Championships appearances.
Raised in Independence, Mo., Perry earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Missouri State University and her Masters degree from the University of Central Missouri. In May 2016, she married her husband, Mitch, and now resides in Lee’s Summit, MO.
Coach Dowden will be taking over the duties of Senior Administrator (formerly Invasion Northland) where she worked in an onsite facility director capacity during the 2017-18 club season.
Prior to taking over as the Senior Administrator for Invasion, Coach Dowden spent four years coaching for Invasion. As Head Coach under her tenure, all of her teams qualified for USA Nationals, as well as winning several National Qualifiers (Lone Star 2017, Chicago 2016). Known as a program-building coach, in her third year at Liberty North the Eagles had their first winning season since 2012, finishing 17-14-2.
A 1993 graduate of North Kansas City High School, Katie graduated from Drury University in 1997 and was a 3-year member of the Panther Volleyball Team. She has been the head volleyball coach of six programs, and is the current Head Volleyball Coach at Liberty North High School. Additionally, she teaches PE/Health at Heritage Middle School, and is Assistant Girls Swim Coach for the Lady Eagles. She earned her first Masters degree in Sports Management in 2003, and is currently working towards a second Masters degree in School Counseling.
Whitney began coaching for Invasion Volleyball Club back in 2007. After taking many successful teams to USAV Junior Nationals, she transitioned into an assistant coach role and accepted a position as the President of Board of Directors. Whitney graduated from MidAmerica Nazarene University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design before earning her MBA from Avila University in 2009. As a 4-year collegiate setter, Whitney broke 5 school records and was named as Setter of the Week as well as an Academic All-American.
Whitney and her husband, Stephen, have two boys, Brooks and Rhett, and she looks forward to when they’re finally old enough to join the Invasion Volleytots program.
