NORTHERN LIGHTS3 teams went to Minneapolis 4-24-26. Marvin's 15 BLACK took only 6 players and put on a gutsey performance to take 9th overall in the Open division of the hardest 15's National qualifier of the year. Kally's 15 BLUE started off great and took 23rd out of 82 teams. Finally, INVASION 14 BLACK pulled off a rare 3-pete of National qualifiers. Their win in Minneapolis gave them 3 Open National Qualifier championships in 1 season!

REGIONAL QUALIFIERAt HOA Regionals 4-18 & 4-19 Invasion 16 Black had a noteworthy finish. They came in 4th out of 29 teams and beat many quality opponents on the way. Tina's Invasion 12 Black Primo Deluxe National Elite Team team played their way to Miami in late June. Their second place finish got them a bid to the USAV National Championships. These girls are perhaps the most improved Invasion team this year and should take great pride in this accomplishment!

APRIL 11TH, 12THOur 16 BLUE girls had an impressive finish at the Lonestar National Qualifier. Playing in the Club division they finished 23rd out of 132 teams! 17 BLACK also played and finished in the Bronze division of Club. 12 BLUE went 2-6 at Okun fieldhouse.

APRIL 3-5Lots of Show-Me results! 3 of our 12's teams played in Bartle Hall over the weekend with Tina's 12 BLACK highlighting the group. 12 BLACK finished 1st in the Silver division. Our 13's had 13 BLUE winning flight 4 and 13 BLACK taking 2nd in flight 2. 14 BLUE made the GOLD round losing to the eventual 14 Club champs. 14 WHITE won Flight 3. 15 BLACK competed at the OPEN level and won the Bronze division. 15 BLUE lost in the first round of the bronze club division, as did 16 BLACK in the 16 club division. 16 BLUE lost in the first round of flight 1. 17 BLACK lost in the first round of Bronze Club. INVASION 14 BLACK won the inaugural Show-Me 14 OPEN Division for their second open championship of the season.

MARCH 28th, 29thINVASION 16 BLACK went to Topeka and brought back the gold. Their game record on the day was 11-2. This is their 3rd victory of the year! 14 BLACK played up to 16's and took first at a Bluedevil challenge in KCK. These girls have lost 1 match all year! 14 BLUE took 2nd at BVAC on Saturday.

MARCH 14-16TH14 BLUE went undefeated in pool play at the Southside Swarm St. Patrick's Day Blast. Ended with a 2nd place finish overall! Diana's 12 BLUE took 3rd in the silver division of Gold Heart. 13 BLACK took 19th, and 16 BLACK took 21st at the Crossroads Qualifier.GREAT NEWS FROM DENVER! INVASION 14-BLACK went 9-0 in match play to take first place in the 14 OPEN division of the Colorado Crossroads National Qualifier. They took out the #1 and #2 seeds to claim Invasion's third Open Qualifier Championship in 2 years.

MARCH 7TH, 8THINVASION 16 BLUE capped a great weekend with a win Sunday at the HOA bldg. What makes this more impressive is they won out at Okun fieldhouse on Saturday also. Our 13 BLACK and 14 BLACK teams took part in the I-70 Challenge at Westminster College 14 BLACK took home 1st place honors in this event. 18 BLACK went up to Wisconsin and took 3rd in Silver in a 40 team JVDA event. They went 7-2.

FEB. 28TH, MAR. 1STInvasion 18 BLACK brought home their 4th straight powerleague trophy Sunday in Willard, MO. Our 14 BLACK team also won their Powerleague and are headed to Miami for USAV nationals in July. On Saturday both Invasion 13's teams played at the FLC. Only 1 could come out victorious and Ron's 13 BLACK girls beat Mel's energetic 13 BLUE squad in the finals. Ashley's 14 WHITE went 7-1 in pool and then won their tournament in Topeka. Our 16 BLACK team was undefeated and won their second tournament of the year, having to beat Ryan's 16 BLUE to get it done. . Also winning their 2nd championship of the year was Tina's 12 BLACK team. The 12 WHITE girls went 3 and 5 at KU.

FEBRUARY 21st, 22ndOn Sunday 2-22 Invasion 14 BLUE went undefeated in pool play and took 3rd place in KCK.

FEBRUARY 14TH-16TH12 TEAMS PLAYED THIS WEEKEND. 12 BLUE and 16 BLACK played at the FLC with both taking 3rd. Presidents Day in Omaha yielded these results: CLUB DIVISION - 12 BLACK 8th, 13 BLACK 18th, 13 BLUE 27th, 14 BLUE 18th, 14 WHITE 28th, 15 BLUE 9th, 17 BLACK 35th. OPEN DIVISION - 14 BLACK 5th, 15 BLACK 8th, 18 BLACK 9th.

FEBRUARY 7TH, 8THTina's 12 BLACK squad was 10-0 Saturday in Topeka to win their first tournament of the year. Marvin's 15 BLACK girls went undefeated at a 16 Gold tourney in Lawrence on Saturday. They have not lost a game this year! Our 14 BLACK team went undefeated in their Powerleague on Sunday. Ron's 13 BLACK girls went 3-2 in their Powerleague opener. Whitney's 16 BLACK team went 2-2-1 to take 3rd in KCK. Mel's 13 BLUE girls went 1-4 in their Powerleague first day. Danielle's 12 WHITE team tied for 5th out of 15 teams on Sunday in Blue Springs.

Jan. 31st, Feb. 1stOur 15 BLACK team continued their undefeated season with a tournament win in a 16 Gold event at the HOA building on Saturday. The 15 BLUE squad went 2-3 in their first Power League date on Sunday. Both our 12-GOLD and 12-BLUE teams were in Topeka with Diana's 12 BLUE girls going 3-5 to take 4th. The 11 BLACK team finished 4th in Riverside. Finally, Invasion 14 BLACK played up 2 years but still won a tournament at the FLC.

Jan. 24th and 25thInvasion 18 BLACK went undefeated in their first powerleague date. They knocked off the #1 seed to git er done. 13 BLACK played up to 15's and went .500 in Lawrence.

JANUARY 17TH AND 18THOn Saturday 1-17 BOTH Invasion 13's teams qualified at their Power League qualifier. Each team stepped it up in playoffs winning all their matches in 3 games. Also on Saturday, our 15 BLACK team went undefeated in their Topeka tournament. This makes them 2 for 2 to start the season. Invasion 14 BLACK won their Powerleague qualifier on Sunday.

JANUARY 10TH, 11THInvasion 15 BLUE took second in their pool and won their 2 playoff matches to qualify for 15s Power League. Our 12-WHITE squad had a successful day at the BVAC taking second place. The girls went 10-6 in games and only lost 1 match all day. Our 16's teams failed to qualify at their Power League.

JANUARY 3RD & 4THInvasion 14 Black played up to 15's and brought home the gold at KCK. The girls went 12-0 on the day. Our 11 Black team traveled to Topeka and went 6-2 in pool before falling in the finals in 3.15 Blue played Sunday and went 8-2 on the day, taking first in their pool and the tournament. 18 Black girls qualified 3rd in their power league qualifier. They went 4-1 in match play. 16 Black capped an 11-1 day with a championship in KCK. They had to knock off our 16 Blue team in the semis. 17 Black played Sat. and had a rough time in their powerleague qualifier. 14 Blue was also at KCK Sunday and finished 1st in their pool before taking 3rd overall. 13 Black and 13 Blue both played at KCK on Sat. and both tied for third. 15 Black went 12-0 to win in Gardner.

DECEMBER 28THInvasion 18 Black won the first tournament of the year for Invasion on Sat., 12-28. They won the Powerleague warm-up tournament at the HOA building. They only lost 1 game on the day.

Longtime Invasion player JESSICA KOPP has received the Evelyn Gates award for the 2008 high school season. This award factors in academic success and sportsmanship to go along with volleyball. It is an outstanding achievement for Jess and Invasion is proud to have been her home the last 4 years. Jess will continue her volleyball career at Washburn University next fall. Invasion players BROOKE FAY and CAITLYN DONAHUE were also in the final four candidates. Brooke will attend Pittsburg State and Caitlyn will go to Kansas State.
